'Daphna & The ClassiCats' is an adventurous band creating a unique crossover of jazz standards and original material with iconic classical pieces, Jewish/Israeli music and world folklore.

To us, the freedom to explore and weave together our favorite music regardless of genre boundaries is pure joy. We invite you to listen and hope you get as much of a kick out of it as we do.

Meet the Band

Daphna

Adventurous vocal jazz artist, powerfully sensitive and playfully sophisticated

A jazz singer, songwriter and arranger who began her musical pursuit playing the upright bass, Daphna Levy is proud to have been a student of prominent voice coach Seth Riggs.

It was Daphna’s passion for classical music that led her to the fusion of genres which is the essence of The ClassiCats. She is the main contributor to the band’s original materials and arrangements.

Daphna's album Late Night Journey features tenor sax artist Lew Tabackin.

Leon

From a rock star in Turkey to one of the most prolific jazz drummers in Israel, that is the journey of Leon Habib. A master of both ethnic and jazz beats, holding dozens of projects in his records, Leon is now adding his special flavor to The ClassiCats, with his sensitive and passionate rhythmic interpretation to well known masterpieces and original materials.

Eran

As a musician of great versatility both in genres and techniques, Eran Zilberberg’s track record ranges from symphonic orchestras and jazz ensembles to Israel’s foremost ethnic pop artist Eyal Golan. Now, as a member of the ClassiCats, Eran’s bass provides a solid ground for the ensemble's sophisticated and adventurous music with backup and melodic lines as well as groovy solo spots.

Tamir

A Berklee College of Music graduate, Tamir Miler is a jazz pianist with an extensive classical background.  As a performer, composer and arranger he enjoys combining jazz with Israeli and ethnic music
